If impossible, keep a person away from the source with dry wood, plastic, or cardboard. Cover the wounds, perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and call for medical help immediately.

Heat, fire, radiation, sun rays, hot water are a common reason for burns. First determine the extent of damage to the body tissue to distinguish a minor injury and severe trauma, for this you must know the degree of burns.

First-degree burn:

The skin is red; there is pain and swelling in the affected area.

Second-degree burn:

Second-degree burn possesses a blister in the affected area and there are severe swelling and pain. The skin is an intensely red having splotchy appearance.

Third-degree burn:

The third-degree burn is severely involved all layers of the skin which caused permanent tissue damage.

First-degree burn and second-degree burn extent to 3 inches area. So hold the affected area below cold running water for 10 to 15 minutes or until the pain becomes less. Or cool it with cold compresses but do not put ice directly on the wound. Cover the gauze smoothly to keep away putting pressure on burned skin. Bandaging protects blister skin, reduces pain, and keeps air off the burn. Apply aloe vera cream or antibiotic ointment and use some pain killer.

A third-degree burn is the most severe burns call for medical help immediately. While waiting for help to arrive do some precaution:

  • Do not take away burned clothing
  • Make sure the victim is not in contact with smoldering material.
  • Don’t immerse extensive burns in cold water which could cause a fall in body temperature, worsening of blood pressure, and circulating.
  • Check signs of circulating (movement, breathing, coughing) if there is no indication to begin CPR.
  • Raise the burn body parts above the heart level if possible.
  • Wrap the burn area with a cold sterile bandage or damp cloth towels.

Most of the snakes are not poison, then clean the wound and apply for medicine. If a venomous snake-like cobra bite, then it has two marks of bite and causes neurological damage. Pain, redness, swelling, blurring of vision, unconsciousness, and coma are involved. The first aid treatment is to keep calm patient, clean by soap and water, apply ice around the bite to remove the poison. Slow the blood flow to prevent the venom from traveling through the body. Dog bite:
